Zen Ritual: Every Action is Precious

Saturday, April 12 | 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

While seated meditation is the core of Zen practice, ritual has always held a deeply important and multifaceted role. Almost every aspect of our practice has a ritual component, ranging from a single bow when entering the zendo to the detailed and carefully planned ceremonies like Jukai.

In this workshop we’ll engage with these various types of rituals and consider why they hold such an important place in Zen practice. We’ll also explore our individual relationship with this part of our practice. Finally, there will be a chance to practice and ask questions about the details of various rituals at Soji.

This workshop will be led by Annalisa Rakugo Castaldo. To attend this offering, please fill out the registration form and make your donation via cash or check (preferred) to: Soji-Dedicated to the Study of Soto Zen Buddhism Inc. or PayPal.

Soji Members – $30, Non-Members – $35

This workshop is offered in-person and online via Zoom. Please register by April 10, 2025. If you are attending via Zoom, a link will be sent to you on April 11, 2025.
