Shuso Hossen Ceremony

Please join Soji Zen Center for Shuso Hossen, a ceremonial rite of passage marking a student’s promotion to the rank of senior. This event takes place at the conclusion of Ango (a period of intensive training), during which time the student serves as a model for the sangha or community. Our shuso, Robbie KoKai Berge, will give a Dharma talk and take questions from the community in a ceremonial conversation known as “Dharma dialogue.” The ceremony will conclude with celebratory refreshments.

If you wish to attend, please complete the registration form indicating whether you will be joining us in person or online (a Zoom link will be emailed to online registrants prior to the ceremony). Students changing into robes should arrive earlier than usual to allow time for ceremony preparations. Please contact us if you have any questions.
